Abstract
By reconstructing the behavior of the montoneros (groups of women) who led the rebellions of the second half of the 19th century in the northwest of the Cuyo region, encompassing Guandacol (La Rioja), Jáchal (San Juan), and Copiapó (Chile), this research analyzes the forms of action carried out by the Provincial States and regional delegations to prevent, regulate, and punish social behaviors considered illegal by the montoneros/bandits in the 1860s.
