Abstract

This paper addresses the epistemic crisis of modernity, characterized by the fragmentation of knowledge under the positivist paradigm and its consequent inability to account for the totality of human experience. Faced with the subject/world divide, the social pathology of acceleration, and insensitivity, this essay explores the hypothesis that resolving this aporia requires a radical shift in perspective. This transformation consists of articulating an epistemological consciousness integrated with a spiritual dimension, capable of restoring a unified vision of knowledge. To support this thesis, a critical dialogue is established between cultural critique (Benjamin, Díaz), the deconstruction of the colonial-modern paradigm (Castro-Gómez), and the proposals of the Manifesto for a Postmaterialist Science. Simultaneously, metaphysical traditions (Plotinus) are drawn upon to ground a teleology of consciousness oriented toward complexity and unity. The argument concludes that overcoming fragmentation requires a conscious self-transformation of the individual, whose collective synergy can generate the substrate for a macro-social cultural transformation, rediscovering the sacred as an existential category.
